Psychological Therapies

After our initial conversations and sessions, I will work collaboratively with you to develop a personalised treatment plan. A therapy plan can be flexible and evolving, and may draw on some of the below therapeutic approaches.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

Explores the relationship between our thoughts, emotions and behaviours. It can help you recognise patterns that may be contributing to feelings of depression, anxiety and other mental health issues.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Focuses on developing psychological flexibility; the ability to respond to difficult thoughts and emotions while continuing to move towards what matters to you.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

A trauma-specific therapy developed to help individuals experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The therapy aims to support the brain in processing memories that may continue to feel distressing or affect how you respond in the present.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

A structured approach that involves gradually and safely approaching memories, situations or activities that have become associated with avoidance, anxiety or distress.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

A trauma-focused therapy that explores how a traumatic experience may be affecting the way you think about yourself, other people and the world.

The Gottman Method of Couples Therapy

An evidence-based approach to couples therapy that focuses on strengthening relationships, improving communication and developing healthier ways of managing conflict.
